Traditions: "The Family"
Life on the reservation is different! There is a “closeness” that the rest of the American society doesn’t
often experience. The clan or extended family often live together, land allocation promotes this also. When someone’s Uncle has a
birthday, you are expected to be there for the party. And of course the grandmothers have a major role in raising the children.
When you see kids at play of even just walking down a road, you see brothers and sisters of all ages – from
teenage to 3. Kids aren’t divided by age like the rest of society. Concepts of private property are different too, with kids playing
here or there not caring as to who’s property they are on. If one gets a new toy it is often shared with all the family members and
sometimes neighbors.
When one of the clan
dies it is a time for all to gather, including those who have moved off the reservation. They get together having their meals in common
, maybe in the tribal hall.
This is not unlike the first Church. All those who had chosen to follow Jesus come together in unity. They
sold what they had and shared it with other believers. They even joined together for meals. Because of this there wasn’t anyone among
them that was in need.
This is not to say that there isn’t a lot of hurt and despair in many families on the reservation. Each
culture has much to offer that is good, yet the best tradition can’t give us the healing and wholeness in the same way the Lord can.
Each of us needs to personally accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, then He can make our lives right and fulfilled.
If you haven’t personally experienced this life change, pray asking your Creator for this “new life”. He
can restore a broken life. Then read Rom. 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, and 10:6-13.

the New Path
(Part 1
from Lesson 2: Who Is Father - Creator?)
INTRO . . .
Our Father - Creator
To get to know a person, the best way is to listen, spend time, and find out what that person says about himself. Does God tell us
who He is? YES! Through His Word. He describes a). Who He is b). What He does c). How He thinks and feels.
Who Is Our Father - Creator?
Because we are physical beings we think of God in the same way. But God is a person but doesn’t have a physical body. He is a
spiritual being. He is not limited in place, or time. He has a personality. He has intelligence, feelings, and has a will. God goes by
many names - “Lord”, “Father”, “Creator”, “Daddy”, “Healer”, “Deliverer”, “Provider”, “I am”, etc..
Our Father - Creator Is Eternal
He has always been and always will be. He was not made or created – He always existed. He is the Alpha (beginning ) and the
Omega (end).
Isaiah 40:28
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or
weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.”
Revelation 1:8
“I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Our Father Creator Is Never Changing
His personality (nature) does not change. When God says something in the Bible, we can trust it because He does not lie or change
His mind like human beings do. He does not break agreements like treaties.
1 Samuel 15:29
“He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a man, that he should change his mind.”

Warriors
for Christ
Requests
- WFC will be moving our headquarters to the Sequim-Port Townsend Washington area. Please be praying that
we will be able to find the right property and acquire the funds to build a discipleship training center, so that we will be able to
have more room for the ministry. This would be used for the training of Native leadership and regional directors nationwide.
Sequim-Port Townsend is located on the Olympic Peninsula which is within access of several reservations and Vancouver/Victoria B. C.,
with approximately 200,000 Native Americans close by.
- Please pray that the Lord will provide the funds for a new computer and laptop. We have had several
problems with our existing computer which has caused delays in responding to people. With the growth our web site ministry this has
been a real problem.
- Please be praying for volunteer office help.
